Behind the Design: How "Boss Nahi Bhai" Was Born
The story behind one of our bestselling designs — from Post-it sketch to sold-out tee.
Every TauBaklol design has a story. "Boss Nahi Bhai" started as an inside joke during a team meeting. Our designer was on a call with a vendor who kept calling him "boss" — that overly formal, slightly fake-respectful "haan boss" that every Indian knows. He sketched it on a Post-it during the call itself. The design went through 7 iterations before we got the typography right. We wanted it to feel like something you'd see on a WhatsApp forward — casual, punchy, instantly shareable — but with production quality good enough to print. The first batch sold out in 3 days. The design resonated because it captures something every working Indian feels: the gap between corporate formality and how we actually talk to each other.
